A spacious, modern townhouse with spectacular sea views, a well-equipped open plan kitchen and huge outdoor living spaces. One of only two houses of its type, it can sleep up to six people in a double bedroom with en-suite shower room and a twin bedroom, both with fully independent air conditioning, and a double sofa bed in the corner living room. Every attention to detail has been made to make this magnificent property a comfortable home away from home. The kitchen includes a dishwasher, washing machine and microwave. There is a wood burner in the living room and an electric barbecue to use on the huge roof terrace. The living room is also air-conditioned. Both bedrooms have a hairdryer and beach towels are included to save weight and space in your suitcases. Makrigialos: Located on the southeast coast of Crete, Makrigialos is just 30 minutes from the working towns of Ierepatra (on the south coast) and Sitia (on the north coast).

Makrigialos is characterized by some of the best beaches in all of Crete (and that’s saying something). There are many secluded coves, all gently lapped by the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea.

A mountain ridge runs west to east across the island and is what gives southern Crete its own very special climate. The mountains protect this part of the island from bad weather. Additionally, Makrigialos itself is surrounded by its own mountain range. This geography means that the Makrigialos region has the best climate in all of Crete, and perhaps in the entire Mediterranean.

The area is popular with tourists throughout the winter who prefer quieter times or enjoy hiking or walking in the gorges.

We strongly recommend renting a car. The island is simply beautiful, and it would be a shame to visit Crete and not see some of it. Driving is easy and car rental is very reasonable. For the price of pre-booked airport transfers for a family of four, you can probably rent a car for a week. If you want to rent a car, we can recommend the company we use.
