The Hotel California am Kurfürstendamm was founded by Bernhard C. Staudenmeir on April 9, 1984 and is still led by him together with Nikolai N. Staudenmeir today. Until 2008, it was located at Kurfürstendamm 35 in the former American sector, in a building designed by German architect Engelbert Seibertz, which today has historical designation. Designed by Seibertz as a residential building and completed in 1898, the building is one of the few not destroyed in the Second World War.
